About Futurehood
Helping parents raise happy, healthy digital natives.
Futurehood is for UK parents of primary-age children who want their kids to make things with technology, not just consume it.
Today’s children will grow up with technology none of us can predict, and with rules that are still being written. Keeping screens away is only part of the answer. Growing up surrounded by technology doesn’t make children good at it. That takes practice, and a grown-up alongside them.
Our posts cover:
What’s changing, from the social media ban to what schools teach, and what it means for your family
Things to make together, from a family podcast to a first game using Scratch
Plain-English guides to where your kids actually spend time online
What we’re reading: the most useful articles and research we’ve come across
No scaremongering, no lectures, and any sponsored link is always labelled.
Why we started Futurehood
We’re Ivy and Chris, London parents of three children under seven. Like a lot of parents, we find the pace of technological change daunting. We started Futurehood to work out, with other families, how to help our children use technology well, sharing what we learn along the way.
